Description
Lino print.
Approx 30cmx30cm.
I have been trying to develop a method of creating images and more specifically controllable tones on lino without cutting or carving. This is the first one I have tried. I am more than happy with the result, even though the finished print is not what I originally inteded (due to my own error when applying caustic to the lino).

you can etch lino using nitro thinner... the principle is the same as with classic etching but instead of acid, you use nitro thinner... you can also do a variation of aquatint on lino using spray paint instead of rosin thus eliminating the need for heating... again, you "etch" using nitro thinner... you can also achieve smooth transitions between tones by controlling how much paint you spray onto lino... transitions which you normally wouldn't be able to achieve with classic aquatint... this method should give you much more control than using caustic and I believe that should give you the results you want...
